Frances M. Collier, age 85, passed away at the Goerlich Center in Sylvania, Ohio on October 12, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on September 19, 1932 in West Virginia to Charles and Amanda (Hollins) Dalton. She married her high school sweetheart James E. Collier in 1951 and the two were very close.
A homemaker all her life, she was a caring, loving mom, always making sure she was there when Sherri got off the bus each day. Frances adored her two grandchildren and would take them to Walmart, McDonald’s and Sauder Village on their occasional sleep overs.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, James, her son Edward Derek Collier and sister Loraine Clement. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Sherri (Jeff) Oberle; grandchildren, Nicole and Derek Oberle; and her sister Carol Green.
A special thanks to the Goerlich Center staff for their wonderful care and support to Frances and her family in these past few years, and to Promedica Hospice for their care at the end of her life.
The family will welcome guests on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home at 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd in Toledo, Ohio where a service is scheduled for 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Frances’ life.
