Donnie J. Thompson, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 22, 2016. He was born on February 26, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Frances Thompson. He married his loving wife Connie on September 9, 2011.
Donnie worked at Welch Packaging in Toledo. He was an avid fan of football. He loved watching his teams, the Denver Broncos and the Ohio State Buckeyes play ball. He loved listening to music, especially Stevie Ray Vaughan and Led Zeppelin. Donnie had a kind heart and a wonderful smile, and most of all he loved his family.
Donnie is survived by his daughter Carrie Thompson of Omaha, Nebraska; step-daughters, Jessica Spellis and Katy (Chris) Rutan, both of Toledo; grandchildren, Tamia, Rajan, and Javon Ellebb, Isabella and Ayden Spellis, Madison and Paityn Rutan, and one on the way; siblings, Jamie Santinbenez, Curtis (Debra) Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Cynthia Thompson, Darla Fuller, Faith Brewer, Michelle Miles, Tracy Kissinger, and Lee Brewer. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Thompson; grandparents, John and Elizabeth Connerton; twin brother, Johnnie Lee Thompson; and baby brother, James Lee Thompson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive guests at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., at Byrne Road, Toledo, Ohio on Friday, November the 11th, starting at 2 p.m. The Family suggests memorials be made to the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo.
